Ronald C. Johnson, 86, Brule, WI resident, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN after a brief but courageous battle.
He was born on October 5, 1930 in Waino, WI to Hannes and Lillian (Maki) Johnson.
In his younger years he enjoyed work as a logger in Brule, WI, Idaho and Western Montana. He worked for the Duluth Board of Trade and, most recently for Catholic Charities in maintenance and as a bus driver for many years.
Ronald was an avid outdoorsman who loved his lifetime home in Waino. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking care of his horses and dogs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by two sons, Timothy (Cathleen) Johnson and Randy Johnson; two daughters, Julie (Dave) Hill and Patricia (Mike) Anecki; eight grandchildren, Morgann (Dave) Schmidt, Katie and Michael Johnson, Mitchel (Lohanna) Johnson, Karleen Johnson, Janeen Johnson, Aaron Hill and Bryan Anecki; six great-grandchildren, Ali, Myla and Violet Schmidt, Dayten and Chaise Ottman and Henzo Johnson; one brother, Fred (Louise) Johnson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law, Sandra Johnson and Katherine Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gayle; son Lawrence and an infant daughter; brothers Floyd (Hazel), Kenneth, Bob (Beverly), Roger and Larry Johnson; sisters, Irene (Eddie) Jarvi, Charlotte (Art) Goodman, Mary Jane (Allan) Johnson, Harriet (Richard) Rantila and Louise (Clarence) Heikilla.
A Time of Remembrance, Celebration of Life, and luncheon will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in the Brule Town Hall, 5231 S. County Line Road, beginning at 11:00 AM with personal reflections to be offered at 12 Noon.
