Ronald E. Furzland

Ronald Eugene Furzland, "Friz" of Hawthorne, WI, died peacefully early in the morning of Friday, July 27th, 2024, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by family and passed on with repose.

Ron was born December 7, 1960, to Earl and Joan Furzland in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1979 and served as a MP in the U.S.

Army until his honorable discharge in 1982.

He married Theresa Louise LaFond, of Plymouth, MN, on August 16, 1986, in Two Harbors, MN.

Ron worked hard for many years in the construction industry, building a reputation for excellence and reliability, before raising a family. He was known by all for his jovial nature, loving heart, charismatic laughter and his patriotic commitment to liberty, freedom, and duty. Ron loved to spend time in nature, and he was a skilled woodworker, craftsman, and golfer.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 38 years Theresa; sons Earel and Keifer; and many loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter C.J.

A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, on Saturday August 10th, 2024. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
