Ronald Greely, 76, South Range, WI, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home.

He was born on September 29, 1934 in Superior to Earl and Elvira (Gilson) Greely.

He graduated from the former East High School.

He served in the United States Air Force for ten years.

Ron married Sharon L. Johnson on February 15, 1975 in Scanlon, MN and celebrated thirty-five years of marriage.

Ron was employed at AZCON, Inc for nine years as a foreman and burner. He then went on to become an over-the-road truck driver for various companies, for many years. Following his retirement from truck driving, he became a greeter at Walmart.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening, mechanical work on automobiles, small engines and televisions. He also liked to travel.

In addition to his wife Sharon, Ron is survived by two daughters, LaVail (Verle) Anderson, Superior, Jennifer (Dan) Harrison, Esko, MN; two sons, David (Kari) Hoven, Isanti, MN, Robert Hoven, South Range, WI; ten grandchildren, Jaymes, Katy and Anna Hoven, Kyle Hanson, Adam Anderson, Matthew and Zachary Harrison, Travis, Samantha and Shaylynn Hoven; six sisters, Peggy (Leon) Anderson, Linda (Brian) Kilgore, Darlene Stochinger, Rebecca “Becki” Greely, Paula Bennett and Maxine Greely; three brothers, Larry Greely, James Greely, Tommy Greely and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Greely; his parents; four sisters, Barbara Mischke, Judy Lovel, Mary Greely and Lorraine Greely and two brothers, August and George Greely.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Friday, September 2, 2011 in Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Ziems, officiating.

Burial will be in Nemadji Cemetery at a later date.
