Ronald W. Lahti

Ronald Wayne Lahti, 83, lifelong area resident, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s hospital in Duluth, MN. Ronald was born at home in Brule, WI on September 30, 1939, to August and Hilda (Lehto) Lahti.

He joined the Air National Guard and worked as a jet mechanic for 30 years before his retirement.

Ronald married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Muttonen, on July 22, 1961, in Oulu, WI. They were married for 61 wonderful years before his passing.

Ronald was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed woodworking and fishing on the Brule River. He loved Wisconsin sports with his favorites being the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Badgers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; children Kathy Sorenson, Chippewa Falls, WI, Andrew (Pamela) Lahti, Monroe, OH, and Bonnie Jez, Tony, WI; grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Jessica, Chad, and Jordyn; great-grandchildren, Logan, Asher, and Hayden; twin brother, Don (Judy) Lahti, Arizona; sister Doris Murray, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald in preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law John Jez.

Per Ronald’s request, no services will be held.
