Ronald Lester Provost

Ronald Lester Provost, age 80, of Superior passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013, at Lakeview Hospital in Two Harbors. He was born January 27, 1933, in Superior, WI.

He graduated from Central High School in 1950 and served as an Army Sergeant in the Korean War.

He married the “love of his life”, the former Janet White, at St. Patrick’s Church in Superior on June 18, 1955.

He was formerly employed at Central Co-op Wholesale and was a Buyer for Twin Ports Grocery and Gateway Foods.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Anna (Schiestl) Provost, and brothers Gerald and David “Sonny”.

He is survived by his wife, Janet “Jan”; children Jerry Provost, Mary (Robert) Sutherland, Julie (Arthur “Don”) Smith, Jane (Mike) Rapaich, Clarice (Tom) Peterson, Barb (Paul) Susienka, and Peter (Nam) Provost; sister Janice (Jerry) Patterson; sister-in-law, Josephine White; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special “Thank You” to the MN Veteran’s Home (Silver Bay) for their exceptional care.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
