Ronald F. Thompson, 68, lifelong Superior resident, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Superior, December 30, 1950, the son of Robert and Lorraine (Flaten) Thompson.
Ron was united in marriage to Kathy Cherry, December 20, 1999, and they were to celebrate twenty years of marriage this year.
He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, and worked as a delivery man for Auto Value before he retired in January.
Ron was a beloved husband, father and friend, who was dedicated to helping others. He had a gift for recognizing a person in need, and was always willing to lend a gentle helping hand. He was a huge Corvair enthusiast, and a Twin Ports Paranormal member and investigator.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; daughters, Stephanie, Jennifer, Angie and Amy; grandson, Noah; sisters; and many cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2019 in Veteran's Memorial Park at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
