Rose M. Degraef

Rose Marie DeGraef, 92, of Iron River, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

She was born on July 28, 1931, to Charles and Bessie (Kotera) Rampier at their home in South Range. She married Donald Tullberg and together they raised six children until his passing in 1970. In 1973, Rose married Alphonse DeGraef and they enjoyed many years together before his passing in 2003.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and Rebekah Lodge in Iron River. She enjoyed baking (and sharing it), crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She loved going on walks and spending time with her family and friends.

Rose is survived by her son Russell Tullberg; daughter Sherry (Keith) Tanula; grandchildren Heather (Devin) Bergman, Neil (Marsha) Tanula, Brant (Julie) Soderlund, Portia (Kevin) Trapp, and Josie Shykes; ten great-grandchildren; sisters Ann Mau, Jean (Ray) Saari, and Elsie (John) Hansen; brother William “Bill” Rampier; son-in-law Jeff Soderlund; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; spouses; children Bruce Tullberg, Laurie Soderlund, Wesley Tullberg, and Donna Shykes.

She was a treasure who will be sadly missed but remembered with a smile in our hearts.

Per Rose’s request, no funeral services will be held.
