Rose M. Snydle, age 73, a longtime resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI, died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. She was held by her husband, Chet, of 55 years and surrounded by her family during her last moments. She was born on April 10, 1945 in West Allis, WI to Nicholas and Rose Mary (Aker) Kienzle.
Rose spent her early years living on a farm in Port Wing, WI and then moved with her family to Superior where she graduated from Cathedral High School in 1963. Rose married Chester Snydle on June 22, 1963. Rose was the supervisor of janitorial/housekeeping and laundry at St. Francis Nursing Home for thirty-six years, retiring in 2008.
One of her favorite things to do was watch her grandson, Brandon, race at the local dirt tracks. Rose was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed traveling with Chet and spending their winter months in Yuma, AZ. She loved cooking and baking, playing games (especially spoons with her grandchildren) and anything that involved her family. Rose enjoyed planting flowers, doing crafts, and spoiling her grand-dogs, Bentley and Maddie. She also had a way of making every holiday extra special for the family. Her absolute favorite thing in life was being a grandma.
Rose is survived by her husband, Chet; two daughters, Roberta “Bobbi” Plachta, Poplar, WI and Anne Dooley, Brule, WI; four grandchildren, Taylor, Brittany, and Brandon Copp and Tanya Plachta; two sisters, Nancy (Mike) Starsovich, Superior, WI and Frances Buchholz, Lakewood, CO; two brothers, Joe Kienzle, Superior, WI and Tom (Sandy) Kienzle,, Town of Superior, WI and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Nicholas and Jim Kienzle.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5
th
Street and continue until the 3:00 PM memorial service with Rev. Fr. David Neuschwander of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Lake Nebagamon officiating.
