Rosemary “Rose” Marceski, 88, longtime area resident died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Superior Rehabilitation Center.
She was born October 13, 1928 in Birch Creek, MI, the daughter of Jacob and Leocadia (Siemenski) Bayerl.
Rose married Thomas Marceski August 12, 1950 and they celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage before his passing. Together, they enjoyed their time as snowbirds in Phoenix, AZ.
She was a longtime member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior, and also attended St. Pius Catholic Church in Solon Springs, WI.
She enjoyed spending her time puzzling, crocheting, quilting and reading. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters, and enjoyed cooking and baking to share with them all.
Rose is survived by her son, Gerald “Gerry” Marceski, Hermantown, MN; granddaughters, Holly (Daryl Anderson) Marceski, Wrenshall, MN, Kelsey (Ryan Lawrey) Marceski, Duluth, MN and Katy Marceski, Hermantown, MN; sister, Mary Jane (Don) Minzlaff, Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Larry (Dee) Bayerl, Pahrump, NV, Ally Bayerl, Menominee, MI and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas; parents; four sisters, four brothers; daughter-in-law and mother to her granddaughters, Terry Marceski in 2013.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1410 Baxter Avenue, Superior, WI, and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski as celebrant.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Johnson, Denny Johnson, Dave Fulda, Don Vollmer and Jack Teske.
Rosemary’s granddaughters will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Luke's ICU and Hospice, and Superior Health and Rehabilitation for the wonderful care they provided Rose during her stays.
