Ruth J. Rolson

Ruth Jewell (Droege) Rolson, 89, of Superior, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, and is now in the hands of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She had kidney disease and was on dialysis and was also a cancer survivor.

She was born June 4, 1934, in Horicon, WI, to Claus and Irma (Melcher) Droege.

Ruth graduated from the former Central High School in Superior, class of 1952.

She was united in marriage to Edwin Emmett Rolson in 1953, and they celebrated nearly sixty years of marriage before his passing in 2013.

Ruth was a member of Twin Ports Baptist Church in Superior since 1972. She loved to do crossword puzzles and a lot of embroidery and knitting. Her greatest love was being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Ted Rolson, Corcoran, MN, and Jeff (Tammy) Rolson, Superior, WI; daughters, Jewell Falkenberg, Delafield, WI, and Sue Ciocarelli (Ken Becker), of O’Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Christopher Rolson, Washington, DC, and Sarah Rolson, of S. Korea, Jeremy (Nicole) Ciocarelli and Jenny Ciocarelli, all of St. Louis, MO, Rhiannon Rolson, Nashville, TN, Ashley Rolson, Pasadena, MD; great-grandchildren, Teagon, Kaden, Nevaeh, Addie, Sienna, and twins, Max and Skylar; sisters, Dorothy (Gerald) Finckler, Broken Arrow, OK, Louise Goodwin, Osakis, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her two sons, Kevin, and Steven Rolson in 1986, her beloved husband, and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, April 19, 2024, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Twin Ports Baptist Church, 208 52nd Avenue East, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Wagenschutz officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Ted Rolson, Jeff Rolson, Jeremy Ciocarelli, Christopher Rolson, Teagon Ciocarelli, and Kaden Ciocarelli.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
