Sarah L. Gronski, 38, longtime Superior area resident, died on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN. After battling medical problems for most of her life, God took our special angel and gave her wings. She was born in Duluth, MN on September 28, 1978 the daughter of Gerald Gronski and Linda Anderson of Superior, WI.
Sarah graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1997. She also graduated from W.I.T.C. with an associate’s degree as a medical administrative specialist. She was employed by St Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth as a Transcriptionist for the last 17 years.
Sarah was an avid outdoors person that loved all sports and made sure she conquered them all. She was very competitive. Her last challenge was playing darts and had decided she had that game and bought her own set of darts not knowing it would be the last game she played. Sarah loved her family and friends so very much. She made sure everyone around her was ok even if she was not. She loved making people laugh as she had a contagious laugh herself. Sarah lived a life of love not fear and let nothing get in her way from doing what she wanted.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Jerry Gronski and Linda Anderson of Superior, Wi; fiance and loving companion of fifteen years, Corey Higgins, Superior; one son, Kain Walberg, three brothers, Jeff (Lisa) Johnholtz, Superior, John (Anne) Gronski, Superior, Jeremy (Nicky) Gronski, of Grantsburg, WI; two sisters, Laura (Zane) Swanson, Superior and Yvonne Harrington, Siren, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, and countless aunts and uncles.
Sarah was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Gronski, paternal grandparents, Robert & Sophie Gronski, maternal grandparents, LaVern and Alice Baumgartner, and step-father Alvin H. Anderson.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Downs- LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior. Visitation will continue at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Duluth, MN.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Paquette, Lincoln Spafford, Davin DePoe, Dean Baumgartner, Randy Baumgartner and Steve Chesney.
