Sarah J. St. Cyr

Sarah J. St. Cyr, 62, Superior resident, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on October 22, 1948 in Hinckley, MN to Warner and Irma (Brigham) Cyr.

She graduated from the former Stanbrook Girls High School in Duluth that is affiliated with the College of St. Scholastica. She also attended Brigham Young University in Utah, got her BA Degree from the University of Oklahoma and Political Science Degree from the University of Denver.

Sarah was employed as the Office Manager for the Burnt Figa Law Firm in Denver, CO. She also previously worked at the former Silver’s Clothing Store in East Duluth, MN and was a paralegal.

She loved art, enjoyed reading, painting, gardening, and drawing, enjoyed volunteer work and loved music.

Sarah is survived by one son, James W. O’Connell, Denver, CO; four sisters, Barbara Kroschel, Hinckley, MN, Shirley Cyr, Coon Rapids, MN, Patricia (Roger) Hockstedler, Warroad, MN and Beverley (Robert) St. George, Superior, WI and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Sarah’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 2:00 PM memorial service with Lay Minister Jim McCusker of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church officiating.
