Scott Orville

April 2, 1954 — July 19, 2024

Scott Orville, 70, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 19, 2024, at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 2, 1954, in Superior, WI, the son of Richard Orville and Emily Geisert.

Scott is survived by his wife, DeAnne Orville; sons, Garret Orville and Mason Orville; stepdaughters, Christina Koshak, Elizabeth Opsahl and Katlyn Little; siblings, Paula (Ron) Luostari, Paulette Orville, Lisa Urbaniak and Tim Geisert; many loving Kn-nephews and Kn-nieces, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Orville, his mother, Emily Geisert, and stepfather, Richard Geisert; brothers, Douglas Orville and Mark Orville.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On June 17, 2006, Scott married Deanne Orrey. They celebrated 18 wonderful years together before his passing.

He was employed for many years as a grain inspector for the State of Wisconsin and for National Quality Inspection of Grand Forks, ND. He also worked for Utyro Construction Company as a carpenter, and Waterfront Port Security as a security guard in Superior and Duluth.

Scott was a proud member of the Lost Race Motorcycle Club for many years. One of his greatest joys in life was being on the open road riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He went on countless bike runs and was actively involved in the Breast Cancer Awareness Ride, where he proudly helped raise money for the cause.  In addition to riding. He was an avid hunter of all sorts of game, especially deer. Known for the passion he had for pool, he was one of the best, top notch pool players in the Twin Ports, winning an impressive number of pool tournaments. He could run a table like a Pro, which he was. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching all things sports. He loved fishing and camping and golfing. While reminiscing in his final days, he exchanged stories of camping with his children, family and friends and stated, “These were the best days of my life”.

To know Scott was to love him. With the big heart he had, he was someone you could count on, always willing to help and one of his biggest joys was bringing people together, whether it was for a motorcycle run, the holidays with his family or his family’s ‘Doug O Pool Tournament’ bringing so much laughter and joy to the ones he loved.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Solvay Hospice house for the care they provided in his final days.

Scott will be always loved, never forgotten and always remembered…
