Sheila Elavsky

Sheila Elavsky, 79, Superior, WI resident, died Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior.  She was born on May 12, 1939 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Alex and Frieda (Hodgdon) Paton.

She graduated in 1957 from Superior Central High School. Sheila retired from the National Bank of Commerce where she worked as a receptionist for many years. She previously had worked at Superior Lidgerwood Mundy Corporation and the Calloway Dental Offices. Sheila married Jerome “Jerry” Elavsky on July 22, 1961 and they celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage before his passing in October of 1999. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Superior.

Sheila is survived by one daughter, Mary Conklin, McFarland, WI; one son, Michael (Pamela) Elavsky, Iron River, WI; two granddaughters, Ashley (Jason) Cuevas and Lindsey Conklin; one great-grandson, Damien; one brother, Neil (JoAnn) Paton, Hubertus, WI and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents Alex and Frieda Paton and her brother Melvin Paton.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5821 John Avenue, Superior at 10:00 AM and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Bridget Jones officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
