Shirley M. (Kauti) Archambault

Shirley M. (Kauti) Archambault, 81, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN with her family by her side. She was born in Superior on September 25, 1940, the daughter of Leonard and Delpha (Severin) Kauti.

Shirley graduated high school and worked as a cashier at the former Thompson Grocery (Kitchee’s) and at Captain AJ’s Fish Store.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed by her son, Scott (Cynthia) Archambault, Cloquet, MN; daughter, Shelley (Joseph) Shatto, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Justin and Matthew of Florida, Brandon (Markie) Hansen, Cody (Brittney Hopkins) Shatto, Dylan Shatto, Jacob Johnson; great-grandchildren, Beckett, Maisie, Kendrick, Oliver, Jayce. Shirley is survived by her sisters, Jane Forstrom, Sharon (Rick) O’Brien, Darlene (Ernie) Rein, Gail (Gordon) Abrahamson; brothers, James Kauti, and Leonard Kauti Jr., several nieces and nephews, and her very special friend who she considered to be another daughter, Barbara Terrozas.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne; her parents; and brothers, Jack, Paul, and Larry.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street in Superior. Visitation will resume at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 2, 2022, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Gary Banker officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, and a family potluck luncheon will follow at 1:00 PM at the Billings Park Civic Center, 3903 N. 18 ^th Street in Superior.

Pallbearers for the service will be Brandon Hansen, Cody Shatto, Dylan Shatto, Jason Bruzek, Joshua Moyer, and Melissa Besvold. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew and Justin (Collins) Archambault, and Jacob Johnson.
