Shirley Ann Martineau

May 8, 1958 — September 9, 2010

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Shirley Ann Martineau (Salus) went to be with her heavenly father after a brief illness with cancer on Sept. 9, 2010.

She was born May 8, 1958 in Superior to Joseph and Dortha Salus.

Shirley married Kerry Martineau on January 5, 1976 in Superior. They renewed their devoted love for one another in a special ceremony on their 30th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas, NV.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Kerry, her son Chad (Tanya) Martineau of Superior, her daughter Dellarae (Chris) Durfee of Cloquet, MN.

Shirley had five wonderful grandchildren Bradley Durfee, Caitlynn Martineau, Sarah Durfee, Paige Martineau, and Hannah Durfee.

Seven brothers; Roy Powell of Branson, MI; Joseph (Wanda) Salus of Portland, OR; Leonard (Cathy) Salus of Bennett, WI; Michael (Linda) Salus of Superior, Peter (Sandy) Salus of Colorado Springs, CO; Paul Salus of Superior, Patrick (Pam) Salus of Superior.

Two sisters Mary (Dan) Johnson of Branson, MI; and Susan (Rick) Krause of Superior and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph & Dortha, and sister; Dorothy Olson.

Shirley was a wonderful friend to everyone, was an exceptional mother and homemaker; of which she was most proud.

She was also a wonderful grandmother. She previously was employed at Campbell Lumber as assistant office manager for seventeen years.

Shirley loved spending time with her family; playing poker, nights out at the casino and vacationing with her husband in Las Vegas.

She valued time with her five special grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of her life at 5:00 PM, Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior.

Visitation will continue at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 10:30 AM, Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father James Tobolski as celebrant.

Internment will be in St. Francis cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Tony Martineau, Cody Krause, Shaun Ware, Matthew Salus, Michael Salus, and Bradley Durfee.

Honorary pallbearers will be her special nephew, Guy Martineau and her special niece, Ashley Salus and her five grandchildren.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
