Sidney James Palm

Sidney James Palm, 82, Superior, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in his home. He was born on September 10, 1932 in Superior to Charles and Dorothy (Chaffey) Palm.

He served his country in the United States Air Force.

Sid married Florence Dopp on April 23, 1962 at Concordia Lutheran Church and celebrated 52 years of marriage.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where he served as an usher for many years and also served on the church council. He was also a member of the Thomas F. Stein VFW Post #1091, the Cooties, was a volunteer at the Bong Heritage Center and taught hunter safety for the DNR for many years.

Sid like to do crossword and Sudoku puzzles, watch the Green Bay Packers, play games on the computer and read non-fiction books.

In addition to his wife Florence, Sid is survived by two daughters, Heidi (Perry) Erickson, Pillager, MN; Arla (Dale Spencer) Williams, Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Jenna (Scott) Malikowski, Emily Erickson, April Erickson and Zachary Williams and two great-grandchildren, Oakley and Hazel Malikowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 and will continue at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 until the 12 Noon Memorial Service all at the Bong Heritage Center, 305 Harborview Parkway, Superior, with Gary Banker, officiating.

Burial will be in the Nemadji Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Sid’s family requests that donations be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Ave., Superior or the Bong Heritage Center.
