Sigrid M. Johnson

Sigrid Johnson, 97, lifelong Superior resident, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living in Superior. She was born in Superior, November 16, 1920, the daughter of Carl Hjalmar and Anna (Johnson) Carlson.

Sigrid graduated from the Superior Teachers College with her Bachelor’s in Education and was a teacher in Bruce and Solon Springs.

She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Superior.

Sigrid loved her card clubs and playing cards and Scrabble with her family, and she was active with her graduating class reunions for many years. Everyone who met Sigrid loved her and will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her son, Jim (Jan) Johnson, Minong, WI; daughters, Joann (Tom) Holmstrand, South Range, WI and Jean (John) Agni, Yorktown, NY; grandchildren, Angie (Brad) Rea, Deb (Don) Lietha, Kim (Steve) Johnson Kuskowski, Cheri (Paul) Finkbeiner, Tim Agni and Ken Agni; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband, Douglas Johnson.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Will Mowchan officiating and great-grandson, Pastor Jonathan Finkbeiner, co-officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
