Stephen A. Westerlund Sr.

Stephen A. Westerlund Sr. 68, born April 13, 1952, went home peacefully to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, August 28, 2020, after a long, brave battle at Middle River Health and Rehab in South Range, WI, and a courageous fight with a lengthy illness (15 years).

He was proud to be a letter carrier. He stuck it out for thirty-nine years. He started carrying mail in the Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg, Ill area, where he carried for twenty-five years, and was known as “Big Steve”. Later carried in Duluth and West Duluth for fourteen years. He was proud to be part of the National Letter Carries Branch #114, of Duluth.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Rose; son, Steve Jr. (Krissy) Westerlund, Maple; daughter, Stephanie (Grady) Knight, of Ill; Grace Westerlund, of Ill; grandchildren, Zoey, Elijah, Steve III and Lily Westerlund, and Madilyn and Porter Knight, of Ill; brother, Jim, of Pensacola, FL; a sister in Arizona; and many other brothers throughout the USA.

A memorial of his life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Hawthorne Assembly of God church, 6366 S. County Rd. E, Hawthorne, WI, Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until 12:00 PM Celebration of Life, followed by a light luncheon.
