Steven John Lukkarila

Steven John Lukkarila, 63, Maple, passed away on August 3, 2010 after a long illness of emphysema and COPD.

He was born on August 19, 1946 in Maple, WI where he continued to live most of his life.

Steve worked various jobs throughout his life, including bartending at Jack and Edna’s for many years and sailing the Great Lakes for fifteen years, retiring in 2005.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Miller and Kelly Lukkarila, both of Arlington, TX; three grandchildren; one brother Mike (Maureen) Lukkarila, Maple, WI; one sister, Amy (Tim) Sharp, Superior, WI; one niece Amanda (Fritz) Williamson, Superior; one nephew Shawn (Mary) Kunckel, Toledo, OH; one uncle Donald (Jean) Autio, Minneapolis, MN; two aunts Lorraine Autio, Maple, Irene Ranta, Ashtabula, OH and several cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Pastor Patrick Ziems of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be John Autio, Bob Wiinamaki, Jim Jamiska, Joe Nevin, Shawn Kunckel and Gary Tyykila.
