Steven "Steve" J. Hunter

Steven “Steve” J. Hunter, 62, Barnes, WI resident, died Saturday, February 13, 2021 in his home. He was born on August 31, 1958 in Superior to Chadburn and Colleen (Prugh) Hunter. Growing up he was a paperboy in Billings Park.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1976. Steve was the proud owner/operator of Steve Hunter Construction. He was a former president and member of the Builder’s Association of NW Wisconsin. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Like his parents, Steve was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Steve is survived by three sisters, Terriann Ward, FL, Cathy (Karen Sundstrom) Hunter, Richfield, MN and Cris (Mike DeMarce) Dancker, Menomonee, WI; two brothers, Michael (Chris) Hunter, Coon Rapids, MN and Wayne (Mary) Hunter, Duluth, MN and several nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Due to covid restrictions on group gatherings, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life and Time of Remembrance will be held at a later date.
