Susan L. Polaski

Susan L. Polaski, 71, longtime Superior resident, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. Shew was born in Detroit, MI on August 30, 1949, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Ristila) Niemi.

She graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1967 and went on to further her education, earning her degree in accounting from W.I.T.C. She was a bookkeeping clerk for Douglas County Health and Human Services for many years. Prior to that, she worked at Goldfines by the bridge and EM Trucks Peterbuilt Truck Dealership.

Susan was united in marriage to David Polaski on July 14, 1973, in Superior, WI and they celebration forty-eight years of marriage before her passing.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Superior, and a former member of Central Methodist Church and the AFSCME union. She enjoyed bowling and camping.

Susan is survived by her husband, David; sons, Ryan Polaski, St. Cloud, MN and Brandon Polaski, Morgan Park, MN; seven grandchildren, Kayla Ashley, Jonathan, MaKenzie, Leilani, Brennen, and Cali; her nephew, Brett (Tina) Gibson; and her niece, Angela Timo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Minter.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3 ^rd Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Joji Boyapati as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Superior.
