Susan Szymanski, 72, resident of Superior, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, with her family by her side.
She was born on November 11, 1951, in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Sonny and Patricia (Hansen) Green. She married Dan Szymanski on Oct. 9, 2000, and spent twenty-three wonderful years together.
Susie worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis for many years.
Susie enjoyed camping with family and friends at the Campground in Gordon, WI. She enjoyed taking side-by-side rides around the area. She also loved fishing with Dan, NASCAR, and taking the occasional trip to the “Machine.” She enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, and could never pass up a deal. Susie had a zest for life and was always able to make those around her laugh. She loved her family fiercely.
Susie was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Dan; daughter Patti (Mike) Foryziak, Cambridge, MN; son Jesse (Jen Anderson) Foryziak; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kainen, and Avalon; three great-grandchildren; sisters Kathy (Gary) Peterson, Barb (Curt) O’Berg, Angel (Brad) Peterson, Jennifer ‘Missy’ (Darren) Green, several nieces and nephews, and her kitty Cuddlebug.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Mike Green; and sister Tricia Brose.
A Celebration of Susie’s Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Billings Park Civic Center, 3903 N. 18th Street in Superior. All are welcome to come share stories, eat some food and enjoy a drink in her memory.
