Ted L. Eckard

Ted Lee Eckard, 85, a longtime Superior resident died Thursday, September 29, 2022, in his home.

Ted was born April 18, 1937, in North Carolina, to Pauline and Jasper Eckard. Ted married Jacqueline (Tyman) Eckard on July 27, 1957, and they celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage.

Ted served his country honorably in the Untied States Air Force.

He sold real estate and later went on to work for the City of Cloquet water department. He retired from the city after 30 years of service.

Ted enjoyed winters with his wife, Jacqueline, in Florida and especially loved spending time with his family. Ted’s hobbies over the years include boating, making wine and watching T.V. Ted was proud of his family and the life he and Jacqueline built together.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jacqueline. His daughter, Brenda, and granddaughter, Natalie.

Ted is survived by his brother, Joe Eckard; children, Steven (Glory) Eckard, Hermantown, MN, Jen (Pat) Lustig, Solon Springs, WI, and Paula (Jon) Aamodt, Lake Nebagamon, WI. He had ten grandchildren and eleven

great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hoel with the Mariner Clinic and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care of Ted.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 21, 2022, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street in Superior, and will continue until the 11:30 AM Memorial Service. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 4777 US-53 in Duluth, MN where Military Honors will be accorded.
