Ted Gruhlke, 73, former longtime Foxboro area resident and currently of Superior, died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
He was born in Hammond, IN, the son of Lester W and Gertie (Kangas) Gruhlke.
Ted graduated from High School in Tomahawk, WI.
He served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967.
He married Linda Carol LaBrenze on November 24, 1962.
Ted was a longtime member of Hope Congregational Church where he served as Deacon. Ted’s love for Jesus was a very important part of his life.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Ted owned and operated a family dairy farm in Foxboro and was a rural mail carrier in the area.
Ted is survived by three daughters, Caroljean (Mark) Delegan, Foxboro, WI; Bonnie (Gunnar Johnson) Gruhlke, Duluth, MN and Ann Gruhlke, Fort Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Saiya Long and Oliver Delegan; one sister, Nancy (Ned) Kohn; two brothers, Don (Rita) Gruhlke and Dale (Sally) Gruhlke; one sister-in-law, Dee Gruhlke and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife Linda Carol, his parents, two brothers Bill and Bob Gruhlke and sister-in-law Pat Gruhlke.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Hope Congregational Church, 1827 Wyoming Avenue, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Michael Casperson, officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
