Terrance L. “Terry” Wilson, 74, lifelong Superior resident, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
He was born in Superior on February 8, 1950, the son of Donald and Elsie “Pat” (Skudlarek) Wilson.
Terry was a graduate of Superior Senior High School and worked tirelessly as an equipment operator at Georgia Pacific for many years.
He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie J. Swift, on February 17, 1969, in Superior. The two were married 48 years, before Bonnie passed away in 2017, Terry faithfully served as her faithful companion and caregiver through her years of difficult medical struggles. This is just one example of Terry’s loyal character and ability to do the hard work. He was a longtime active member of his church, Bayside Baptist, and served in a variety of capacities over the years from supporting the youth group, running the sound board, men’s group, ushering, and other areas. Bonnie and Terrys’ house was a welcomed space for anyone who needed a place to call ‘home’ whether through foster care in the early years, college students, neighbors, family, and friends.
Above all, Terry loved being with his family and will be dearly missed by his children Micheal (Kathy) Wilson, Duluth, MN, Jamie (Nicky) Wilson, Superior, Wendy (Jojo) Ninan, Hudsonville, MI, Daniel (Debra) Wilson, Superior, and Amy (Dave) Lemaster, Superior; grandchildren Micah, Grace, Chloe, Hayden, Robert, Katelyn, Josie, Abbi, Eliza, Ella, Emmett, Ezra, and Everett; brother Alan Wilson; and brother-in-law Zen Sugano.
A legacy of a faith in Jesus can be seen in Terry and his children, along with a sense of humor that made life lighter and instilled resilience.
Terry is preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie; sister Donna Sugano; infant son Shawn: and his parents.
