Terry A. Martineau

Terry A. Martineau, 72, born on the Fond du Lac Reservation, December 15, 1947 to Francis E. and Eva M. (Nelson) Martineau, died peacefully, Monday, August 17, 2020 at Essentia Health Hospice/Oncology Unit in Duluth, MN, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

Terry was a lifelong Superior resident; he graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1966 and went on to earn his degree in radio mechanics from the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute.

Terry was a Vietnam veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Army. He later worked for Glass Block as a shipping clerk, retiring after thirty-six years of service. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa; was an avid softball player and a devout Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan.

Terry was known, respected, and loved by many, and known as a gentle loving soul to all that crossed his path. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.

He is survived by his longtime wife and mother of his children, Linda (Daugherty) Martineau; daughters, Cara (Kris) Schaeffer, and Christie Martineau, all of Superior; son, Shan (Jenny Ruddy) Martineau, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Heather, Alicia, Jalice, Jason, Isaac, Jaydon, Caleb, and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Haydon, and Aphrodite; brothers, Kerry (Lynn) and Perry Martineau; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Johanson-Martineau; parents; sister, Caroline Shelafoe; and brothers, Gary, Larry, and Jerry Martineau.

The family would like to thank the Essentia Health staff and a special thanks to his niece, Della Rae Durfee for watching over him as his nurse and guiding him into the spirit world.

A Celebration of Terry’s Life and a Time of Remembrance will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM, Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior. A continuation of the Celebration of Life and refreshments will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, at Mike’s Place, 1807 N. 11 ^th Street, Superior.
