Thomas Richard “Tom” DeRosier, 70, resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, November 25, 2023, with his wife by his side at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. He was born in Duluth, July 16, 1953, the son of Leo “Richard” and Elizabeth (Bouchner) DeRosier.
He graduated from Northwestern High School, class of 1971.
Tom was united in marriage to Cathy Carlson, January 5, 1980, and they celebrated forty-three years of marriage before his passing.
As an avid outdoorsman, Tom worked in park maintenance for the Douglas County Forestry Department for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and working in his yard and around his home.
Tom loved to golf and played on the golf league at Norwood Golf Course for many years. He enjoyed sports and was a faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Most of all, Tom was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy DeRosier, Lake Nebagamon, WI; sister, Diane Nordell, Eau Claire, Wi; sister-in-law, Susie DeRosier, Keena, AK; nephews, Tony DeRosier, New Smyrna, FL, Donnie (Amy) DeRosier, Duluth, MN, Willie (Shelley) Saice, Auroa, Mn, Gabe (Tarissa) Saice, Duluth, MN; sister at heart, Peggy Saice, Duluth, MN; mother-in-law, Joyce Yadon, South Range, WI; sisters-in-law, Janice (John) Nelson, Hawthorne, WI, Kelley (Scott) Dowd, Sandwich, IL, Jenny (Ken) Yadon, Hawthorne, WI, Dana (Greg) Lundeen, South Range, WI, and Becky (Jim Ronning) Carlson, Maple, WI; brother-in-law, Scott (Mary) Carlson, Superior, WI; his lifelong friend, Bruce Burger, Lake Minnesuing, WI, and his main source of comfort and best friend, his dog Gemma.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert DeRosier; his parents; stepfather, Stanley Nordell; maternal grandparents, Steve and Martha Bouchner, and paternal grandparents, Leo and Marguerite DeRosier.
A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Norwood Golf Course, 7445 S. County Road P, Lake Nebagamon, WI.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made in Tom’s name to either The Wounded Warrior’s Project or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
