Thomas L. Kern

Thomas L. Kern, 76, lifelong area resident, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home in Superior. He was born in Superior on May 8, 1948, the son of Keith and Marjorie (Sandberg) Kern.

Tom was born and raised in Superior and lived in Solon Springs for over 20 years.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School and took a drafting course. He was a very talented craftsman, especially skilled in carpentry and worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter, having worked on many unique and challenging projects over the years.

He is survived by his sons Judd (Megan) Kern and Tyler (Ana) Kern; grandchildren Gus, Levi, Charolette, and Hazel; brother Dennis Kern; sisters JoAnn (Vince) Sirocchi and Kathy Michael; sister-in-law Renee Kern; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Kern.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Jimmy’s Saloon, 1812 Iowa Ave in Superior.
