Tony M. Petite, 63, of South Range, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born in Superior, WI on September 28, 1960, the son of Gerald and Shirley (Potter) Petite.
He graduated from Superior Senior High School in the class of 1979. After graduating, Tony had various jobs before becoming a carman for the Canadian Pacific Railroad for over twenty years. He spent time as a plumber apprentice, meat cutter at Rainbow Foods, and joined the Glazier Local 1324 union working for Hoffers Glass.
He was a member of the local Brotherhood of Railroad Carman.
Tony was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an expert meat smoker and enjoyed having family and friends over to share. He also loved adventure, corvettes, and being around people, whether he knew them or not! He will be forever remembered for his great conversation and his infectious laughter.
He is survived by his wife Lilian, West St. Paul, MN; sons Michael Petite (Kelly Smerdon), Bloomington, MN, and Matthew (Nickie) Petite; daughter Kara (David) Duke, OK; grandchildren Cash Petite, Isabel Petite, Chloe Petite, and Harper Duke; sisters Susan (Bob) Hart, Becka Petite, and Beth Petite; brothers Jay (Maxine) Petite and Scott (Peggy) Petite; good friend Cheryl Shockley; and several nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Shirley Petite.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Hawthorne Assembly of God, 6366 County Road E in Poplar, WI, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Joe Dokken officiating.
