Verlyn L. Peterson

Verlyn L. Peterson, 91, lifelong Lakeside area resident, died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center in South Range, WI. He was born in Lakeside, WI on February 4, 1927, the son of Chester Victor Lawrence  and Ruth ( Beckman) Peterson.

He graduated from Lake Nebagamon High School  and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army, serving in Germany following WWII.

Verlyn married Bernadine Reynolds  in 1953 and celebrated sixty-one years of marriage before her passing in 2014.He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Poplar, WI, a board member of Tri County Insurance and a board member of F.H.A. Verlyn owned and operated a family farm in Lakeside with his wife Bernadine and brother Larry for many years.

He is survived by one son, Gary (Mary) Peterson;  one sister, Joyce Peterson; one brother, Larry Peterson, all of Lakeside, WI; three grandchildren, Christopher Peterson, Melissa (Cassidy) Javner and Cory Peterson. Verlyn was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Lauri Ann and Gail Renae and his son, Kevin.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Peace Lutheran  Church in Poplar, and will continue until the 11:30 AM memorial service with Pastor Donna Rutten officiating.
