Vicky Lee Shelhon

Vicky Lee Shelhon, 65, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born on September 14, 1957, to Melvin and Arlene (Meyers) Wermter.

She was a lifelong member of the Lakeland Baptist Church in Gilbert, MN.

Vicky loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and going to the Red Lake Resort with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her cocktails and cigarettes.

Vicky is survived by her significant other of 25 years Dave “Divit” Karaba, Superior; daughter Lora Elkington, Lakeside, MN; son Larry Shelhon, Superior; sister Gayle (Larry) Lein, Missouri; six brothers, Melvin (Cathi) Wermter, Ohio, Alan (Pavine) Wermter, Ohio, Gary (Terri) Wermter, West Virginia, Mark (Margaret) Wermter, Twin Cities, Jim Wermter, and Keith (Elaine) Pfuhl, Twig, MN; stepdaughters Wendy Hendrickson and Wanita (Harold) Martin; stepsons Willie Stevens, Thomas (Kayla) Karaba and Timmy Karaba; special daughter Shirley Sandstorm; grandchildren Cameron Elkington, James (Zoe) Stepan, Luke Stepan, Matthew Stepan, Zoe Elkington, Faith Elkington, Layla St. Marie, Aria Karaba, Sara, Christopher, Hunter, Harlie, Kayden, Logan, Jordan, Levi, McHale, Wally, Taylor Sandstorm, Mark Sandstorm, and Benny Adams; great grandchildren Alexandra, Amara, Dylan, Ryan, and Alyssa.

Preceded in death by her husband Wayne “Larry” Shelhon; her parents Melvin and Arlene; daughter Bambi Wermter; brothers Lonny and Dwayne Wermter; and stepson Wayne J. Shelhon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street in Superior, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
