Viola Lorraine Anderson

Viola Lorraine (Mrs. Bing) Anderson, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7 ^th , 2020, at her home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Viola was born in Port Wing, Wisconsin on July 3, 1925, to Gust and Anna Kolin.

Viola was a graduate of South Shore High School. On October 18, 1943, she married Floyd “Bing” Anderson (born in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin) and they celebrated 71 years of marriage before his death in April, of 2015.

Viola was a homemaker, and her husband, Bing, was a commercial fisherman on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. They were parents to two daughters, Betty and Arlene. When the girls were old enough to be in school, Viola helped Bing every day when he came in from the lake with a boat full of fish. They sold their home in Port Wing and moved to the Royal Oaks Apartments in Osceola, Wisconsin in the fall of 2014.

Bing and Viola loved listening to country music, traveling, and spending time with family. Summer was a time to visit their daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at their lake homes in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Viola enjoyed reading and visiting with the friendly residents at the Royal Oaks Apartments.

In addition to her parents (Gust and Anna Kolin), Viola was preceded in death by her brothers (Henry, Gustaf, and Leonard); her sisters (Hilda, Victoria “Dolly”, and Alice); her husband Floyd “Bing” Anderson; and her son-in-law, David Engen.

Viola is survived by her daughters: Betty (Tom Tapani) of Chisago City, MN, and Arlene Engen of Mount Juliet, TN; granddaughters: Lori, Traci, Sheri, Tammy, and Jamie; and 9 great grandchildren: Ailie, Emilee, Maija, Dominic, Julian, Gianni, Carsen, Rowen, and Evelyn.

We will all miss Grandma very much! A private memorial service will be held in the coming months.
