Virginia Bernacki, 92, lifelong Superior resident, died on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice in Duluth.
She was born on September 14, 1923 to E. Bill and Katherine (Dvorschak) Plachta.
She married her beloved husband Clayton on August 12, 1943 and they celebrated sixty-three years of marriage before his passing in October of 2006. She was currently a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.

Faith, family and friends were her priorities in life. She maintained her wit and made us smile right to the end. She enjoyed attending baseball games of family members and was a loyal fan and cheerleader. In retirement, she and Clayton liked to travel and make day trips to local casinos. Most recently, she enjoyed going for short rides and out to eat.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister Helen and a brother Ray.
Virginia is survived by one son, Dennis (Helen) Bernacki and one daughter, Diane (Jim) Stuart, both of Superior; three grandchildren, Pete Bernacki, Kim (Dean) Norrell and Beth Bernacki; two sisters, Lillian Sweeney, Superior, WI and Kay Nelson, St. Paul, MN.
