Virginia M. Pearson

Virginia “Ginger” M. Pearson, 87, longtime Poplar resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Twins Ports Health in Superior. She was born on February 5, 1936, in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (O’Brien) Heidemann.

Ginger was united in marriage to Earl Pearson on November 19, 1955, in Lake Nebagamon, WI. They spent 60 wonderful years together before his passing in 2016.

She worked as the bank manager at NBC in Poplar, WI and volunteered at the Richard I. Bong Center for many years.

Ginger enjoyed playing golf and crocheted many afghans over the years. She also enjoyed playing cards and especially loved hosting and entertaining guests. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons David (Peggy Johnson) Pearson, Iron River, WI, and Gary (Sue) Pearson, Lake Nebagamon, WI; grandchildren, Grant, and Nathan (Cassidy Friend), Travis, and Trevor (Becky); great-grandchildren, Braedun, Troy, Eden, and AJ; brother, Rex Heidemann, Calhoun, GA; sisters, Sally (Bob) Ramper, Bennett, WI, and Ramona Larson, Bemidji, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

Ginger is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl; daughter-in-law, Vicki Pearson; brothers, Eugene, Charles, and Jerry Heidemann; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Lucielle, Delores, and Karen Heideman; brother-in-law, William Larson, and her parents.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Darrell Kyle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in Ginger’s name to the Richard I. Bong Historical Center, 305 E. 2nd Street, in Superior.
