Virginia A. Weyandt

Virginia A. Weyandt, 76, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ashland, WI, February 28, 1943, the daughter of Sherwood and Mildred (Gitner) Darwin.

Virginia was united in marriage to Stephan Weyandt, August 5, 1961 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Iron River, WI, and they celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage before her passing.

She worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Elementary School in Iron River, WI. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed going to the casino with her husband, golfing and playing cards with her grandson, Max. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephan Weyandt, Iron River, WI; sons, Scott (Kadi) Weyandt, Iron River, WI, and Greg Weyandt, Chippewa Falls, WI; grandchildren, Trisha, Jessica, Nicole, Logan, Justin, Riley, Brady, Andres and Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Jasper, Declan, and Juniper; brothers, Jerry (Judy) Darwin, Iron River, WI, Jim (Kathy) Darwin, David Darwin, and Denny (Patti) Darwin, all of Madison, WI; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Darwin.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 68105 S. George Street, Iron River, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Michael Crisp as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery at a later date.
