Wallace E. Bartholomew, 86, Superior, died Friday, July 18, 2014 in his home.
He was born on December 2, 1927 in Duluth, MN to Emerson and Ethel (Oberg) Bartholomew.
He served in the United States Army and was stationed in the Phillipines from 1945 to 1946.
Wallace married Ethel Tutor on March 12, 1949 and celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He was employed as a letter carrier for the Poplar Post Office for many years, retiring in 1991.
In addition to his wife Ethel, Wallace is survived by two sons, Dennis (Kristine) Bartholomew, Russell (Kristine) Bartholomew; two daughters, Janice (Anthony) Santisi, Marilyn (John) Pank; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Rosanne Bartholomew; one sister, Judy Soger; one sister-in-law, Ida Korhonen and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Ronald; his parents; a sister Estella, two brothers, Raymond Korhonen and Freddie Bartholomew and a cousin, Alvin Korhonen.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and will continue until the 4:00 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joel Huenemann, officiating.
Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Tripp, WI.
