Walter M. “Wally” Felten, 90, lifelong area resident died peacefully, Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his home in South Range, WI. He was born in the Green Bay area on the family farm on May 25, 1932, the son of Henry and Eleanore (Schwoerer) Felten.
Over the years Wally sailed the Great Lakes, ran a farm, and was the co-owner of Poplar Implement, and he finished his career as an operator with the Douglas County Highway Department.
He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed farming and the Steam and Thrashing show. In in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Wally is survived by his sister, Ann (Marvin) Juklok; nephew, David Juklok, and many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, George, Jerome, and Leo Felten, and his sister, Sr. Mary Felten.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street in Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Norm Groehler, John Autio, Larry Kelleher, Kyle Thompson, Richard Paine, David Johnson, Carl Peterson, Pete Fornengo.
