Walter C. Kujava

Walter Charles Kujava, 59, lifelong Superior resident, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, unexpectedly at his home. He was born on January 3, 1962, in Duluth, MN to Walter and Barbara (Jodell) Kujava.

He worked at Field Logic as an assembler until 2006 and previously at Jeno’s and TLK. Walter married Denise Boortz on May 26, 2006, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Superior, WI. He loved watching westerns and football and was a Minnesota Vikings fan, playing cribbage, listening to music especially Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Beetles.

Walter is survived by his wife, Denise; daughter, Kayla Kujava Leitzinger, Shellsburg, WI; son, Andrew Kujava, Shellsburg, WI; grandson, Caleb; sister, Patti Nett, Superior, WI; brothers, Joseph Kujava, Superior, WI and Richard Kujava, Twin Cities; very close cousin who was like a brother to him, Gary Jodell; brother-in-law, Darren Boortz and sister-in-law, Dianna Boortz and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Barb and his father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Barb Boortz.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM memorial service.
