Walter J. Moe

Walter J. Moe, 97, Superior, died Monday, May 31, 2010 in Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 30, 1913 in Superior to Carl B. and Gunhild (Anvik) Moe.
He married Alta Hammerbeck on September 4, 1940 and celebrated forty-four years of marriage before she passed away on March 12, 1985.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Walter was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by one son, Karl (Carla) Moe, Superior; one daughter, Shirley Tratechaud, Superior; one sister, Alice McFarland, California; four grandchildren, Peter and Sam Tratechaud and Ashley and Brandon Moe and one great-granddaughter, Sativa Moe.
In addition to his wife, Walter is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Nitsch and Elsa Heyer.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 12 Noon Memorial Service on Monday, June 7, 2010 in the Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Plaster, officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
