Walter Tallberg

Walter C. Tallberg, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas after a very courageous battle with colon cancer with his wife and daughters by his side.

Walt was born May 31, 1935, in Ansonia, Connecticut to Walter A. & Edith J. (Clark) Tallberg.  He graduated high school in 1951 and joined the Air Force in 1952.  He also served in the Navy & Army before retiring from the Military in 1995.  He was a member of the Duluth IBEW Electricians Local 242, the National Rifle Association and was very proud to be a Korean War Vet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, sister-in-law Lucille and a grandson Billy Downs IV.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Judi, five daughters, Cheryl Downs, Lisa Tallberg, Karen (Randy) Silverness, Superior; Tracy (Joe Lassen), Conway Georgia; Susie (Greg Jones), Forest Lake, MN, his step-children: Angie (Pat) Pierce, Teri (Bruce) Sutherland, Bennett; and Alan, South Range.  13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

A Memorial Service is being planned for later in the summer.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
