Wayne E. Rutzen, 67, Barnes, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Essential Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN.
He was born in Glenwood City, WI on April 10, 1947 to Roland and Virginia (Barber) Rutzen.
He served his country in the United States Navy.
He married Karen Bakken on May 20, 1989 and celebrated 24 years of marriage.
He was employed as an electrician with Local Union #242.
Wayne was a member of the VFW Post #8329 in Barnes, WI and the Lost Race Motorcycle Club of which he was one of the original 13 members.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Harley Davidson rider. He owned 13 Harleys and built three of them from the ground up.
In addition to his wife Karen, Wayne is survived by three sons, Jody (Barb) Rutzen, Minong, WI, Shilo (Marissa) Rutzen, Foxboro, WI, Michael Baxley, Ashland, WI; one daughter, Michelle Striowski, Cromwell, MN; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Renee (Dennis) Hicks, Blain, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Barnes VFW, 52325 Lake Road, Barnes, Wisconsin.
