William James Bach, 70, a longtime South Range, WI resident, died Monday, October 17, 2022 with his loving wife by his side. William (Bill) was born October 7, 1952, in Superior, WI to William and Mary (Whalen) Bach. William married Debra A. Johnson on February 5, 2015, and they celebrated more than 7 years of marriage.
William served his country honorably in the United States Army. He attained his Associates Degree in Forestry from Stevens Point College, WI. He worked over 40 years for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
William was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a seasoned outdoorsman; a hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed golfing, cooking, gardening, and time spent at the See’s family cabin in Gordon, WI.
William is survived by his wife, Debra Johnson and his three children, two stepchildren, and seven grandchildren. Daughters Amanda (Jeremy) Holman, Valerie (Justin) Wright, and son Andrew (Justine) Bach; previous wife Darleen Bach; stepdaughter Emily (Tim) Opacich; and stepson Daniel (Dan) St. John; grandchildren Emily and Ella Holman, Amara Wright, Olivia Bach, Harper, Leia and Theo Opacich. Two sisters Patricia “Pat” (Steve Nordic) Mulyck and Christine “Chris” (Robert “Bob” Smith); cousins Phil See and Dana Bach; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, most with the middle name of Eugene, given by Uncle Bill.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Downs-Lesage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue in Superior, and will continue until 12:00 PM at which time full Military Honors will be accorded.
