William "Bill" Berg

January 11, 1945 — March 5, 2011

William “Bill” Berg, 66, lifelong Superior resident, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1945 in Superior, WI to John and Alice (Sniadak) Berg.

He graduated from high school and worked in the landscaping industry as a laborer for many years.

Bill served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

He loved landscaping, drawing and painting.

Bill was a loving, caring and compassionate man. He took care of his mother the last six years of her life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Bill is survived by two nephews, Jim (Kelly) Lord, Hermantown, MN and Robert Lord, Superior, WI; a niece, Kristin Lord, Hudson, WI; one grandnephew, Isaac Lord and one grandniece, Cora Lord and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Berg and a sister, Marie Lord.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Greenwood Cemetery in Veterans Memorial Park, Superior with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church officiating.

Military Honors to be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
