William (Bill) Lloyd Kimmes Sr, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday October 28th, 2022 on the Feast of Saint Jude, his patron saint, whom he prayed to daily.
He was born November 2nd, 1931 to William and Phoebe (Harty) Kimmes. Bill was baptized at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, Wisconsin.
He married Joanne Delores (Pearson) Kimmes, his Superior Cathedral high school sweetheart at the Cathedral of Christ the King. Together they raised 10 children. Bill and Joanne were married for 65 years until Joanne passed in 2017.
Bill graduated from Cathedral High School, lettered in boxing and football, attended Marquette University and is a veteran of the USAF. He will be remembered as a highly respected road builder, a lifelong member of the Elks Club, an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and a snowmobile racing pioneer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joanne, sisters Helen Kimmes (Jones), Marion Kimmes, Clara Kimmes (McGill), brothers Peter and George. His sister Dolly Kimmes (Cosgrove) passed four days after he.
Survivors include, his brother Robert (Diane) Kimmes, sister Kathy (Joe) Cleveland, his 10 children, 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday November 21st at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior Wisconsin. Visitation at 10:00 am, Rosary 10:30 am, Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
