William C. (Clay) Hardee, 50, resident of Lake Nebagamon, died unexpectedly Monday, June 24, 2019 in Duluth, MN. He was born in Vero Beach, FL, January 2, 1969, the son of William H. and Lois Marie (Williams) Hardee.
He was united in marriage to Connie Pooler December 18, 1987, and they celebrated thirty-one years of marriage before his passing. He was an equipment operator for the Local 49ers and was currently working for J & W Enterprises of Green Bay, WI.
Clay, affectionately known as the “Hillbilly”, was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing, but above all, he was a devoted family man. His family was his world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie, Lake Nebagamon, WI; daughters, Stephanie (Don) Harden, Two Harbors, MN and Felisha (Travis) Kauther, Hawthorne, WI; son, Clinton Hardee, Lake Nebgamon, WI; grandchildren, Keagan, Kara, Lily and Grayson; sisters, Linda (Ricky) O’Steen and Carol (Butch) Tumlin, all of Steinhatchee, FL; brothers, Billy (Val) Tillman, of Texas, and Buddy Hardee, Steinhatchee, FL; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Bembry.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Dennis Kelleher officiating.
Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery.
