William R Hobson

William R. Hobson, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Superior. He was born in Hayward, WI on February 16, 1944 the son of Donald J and Margaret (Krause) Hobson.

William was a lifelong member of the NRA.

He loved exploring Superstition Mountain in Arizona with his friend Don, over the years in search of the Lost Dutchman Mine. William loved cooking and enjoyed reading, loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid star trek fan.

William was employed by Bill Rose Roofing in Houston, Texas as a roofer.

He is survived by one son, Donald (Shelby) Hobson, Superior; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Hobson) Henry-Bay, Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Timothy (Carrie) McCarthy, Overland Park, Kansas, Dustin Hobson, Superior and Garrett Hobson, Superior; one brother, Dean (Eileen) Hobson, Waukesha, WI, and several nieces and nephews; longtime friend, Don Robinson, Houston, Texas; one great-grandson, Carter McCarthy; and William is expecting a great-grandchild this coming December; his former wife, mother of his children, Carla Bell.

William is preceded in death by his parents.

Per William’s request there will be no public services held at this time.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
