William L. Hunter, 66, longtime Superior resident, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Superior. He was born in Siren, WI March 3, 1951, the son of William L. and Ethel Hunter.
Bill served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in Vietnam.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed motorcycles. He had a great love for music and especially loved playing, building and repairing musical instruments.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Williams, Superior; and Angela (Ernie) Dodd, Missouri; son, William L. Hunter III, Superior; the mother of his children, Patricia Smith; nine grandchildren, Branden, Alisa (Cody Moore), Nolan, Kaitlynn, Madisen, Jordan, Ryan, Destiny and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Danny and Xander; three sisters, Dea Hunter, Bev Learn, and Janice Ackerson; brother, Jim (Jackie) Hunter, and several nieces and nephews.
A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2017, in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East Fifth Street, Superior, where military honors will be accorded at 7:00 PM by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be, Jim Hunter, Willie Hunter, Nolan Williams, Branden Hunter, Cody Moore, Ryan Williams and Ernie Dodd.
Burial will be in the Loraine Union Cemetery in Siren, WI.
