William L. Lindstrom

William L. Lindstrom, 79, Superior resident, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on October 31, 1939 in Superior, WI to Linner and Agnes (Peterson) Lindstrom.

He graduated from East High School in 1957 and went on to the Wisconsin State College (UWS) where he received his master’s degree. William served his country in the United States Army in the Superior National Guard. He was employed as a music teacher for the Superior School District for many years retiring in 1995. He married Carol Gondek on December 1, 1962 in Concordia Lutheran Church and recently celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.

William was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Superior Acacia Itasca Masonic Lodge #329, AAD Shrine Temple. He was a life member of NRA and member of the Ambridge Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing and skin diving. He was a builder and craftsman and loved traveling and photography.

William is survived by his wife, Carol, two daughters, Cathy (Jason Larson) Olsen, Foxboro, WI and Lynn (Chris) Lesneski, Fairbanks, AK; two grandchildren, Graydon and Macey Lesneski; two brother-in-laws, Joe Gondek and Jim (Diane) Gondek and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Harold (Tim) Olsen and sister-in-law Gayle Gondek.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior with a 7:00 PM Masonic Service to be held. Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Michelle Rowell.
