William J. “Bill” Thompson, 62, longtime Foxboro resident, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 unexpectedly at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born in Superior, WI on September 1, 1946 to Victor and Eileen (Kilgore) Thompson.
He graduated from the former East High School and attended W.I.T.I. and received certification in the Auto Mechanics Program.
He married Joannie Radzak on June 17, 1967 in St. William’s Church and celebrated forty-two years of marriage.
Bill was employed as a machinist for Superior Lidgerwood-Mundy for twenty-seven years and was a member of the International Association of Machinists Union affiliated with Superior Lidgerwood-Mundy.
He also was a member of the St. William’s Catholic Church in Foxboro.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends and riding his horse, Ellie.
Bill is survived his wife, Joannie; daughter, Chrissie Thompson, Foxboro, WI; sister, Patricia “Pat” (Kenny) Raymond, St. Petersburg, FL, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbie Thompson, his parents, an infant sister, Betty Ann Thompson, sister, Carrole Pettingill and mother and father-in-law, Bernadette and Adam Radzak.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 4, 2009 in St. William’s Catholic Church, Foxboro and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson will celebrate the Mass and Rev. Fr. Edwin Anderson will con-celebrate.
Burial will be in St. William’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Thom Kintop, Duane Johnson, Tom Young, Ronnie Nindorf, Dave Provost and Roger Yeazle. Bill’s brothers-in-law, Mike, Tim, Peter, Steven, Dan and Dave Radzak will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
